I dreamt of the day my shop would open since its initial daydream during primary school on a dry, hot day under the south Texas honey mesquite queen tree in deep Webb county Texas. I was, a child, by myself curating tinctures and potions from earth, mesquite and love, above all else. My interests over the years has included growing up within folk catholicism, ancestral mexican american curanderia, nature, folk traditions, earth based spirituality, goddess veneration, esoteric study, Buddhism, plant medicines, divination, extensive self development practice, divination practice since youth until now, for over 26 years. Professionally, I was in learning, professional development, training as an Experience and Learning Experience Design, a trained instructional designer and certified human centered design facilitator in the public life. However, due to professional associations and high risk of discrimination, I was unable to come out with my beliefs or practice as openly as I desired.
My goal is to bring a Botánica and cultural Metaphysical experience within the communities we vend and pop up in, for spiritual empowerment, community engagement, creating practical curations and sharing knowledge for holistic self-care of mind/body aura/soul and environment. Each offering is curated by blending proprietary organic (local when possible) herbal infused blends, as granted by generations of Borderland Tejana Mexican American (MxAm) Folk and healing curations. I bring extensive knowledge in my spiritual, professional coaching/facilitation through the use of different modalities drawing from astrology, divination, human behavioral dynamics qualitative research and training, human experience design, design, user experience, qualitative studies, and extensive academic research. 19 years + of leadership, design, service, management and career experiences working with people/business ops.
At Owls Nest Curios we are local, small batch, ritual crafted, ethically sourced and environmental conscious. I source locally and ethical B2B only. This is a Tejana and Woman owned small business.
We believe in circular design, as this impacts consumption and earth based practices. We believe in up-cycling, reducing waste and consciously choose each item and process under continuous updates. All your glassware can be returned and refilled where needed, we aim to return our practices to use conscious consumption and minimizing impact to environment. We source and support local businesses where available. We commit to developing old world and modern world (analog and digital) with conscious based practices and daily life design in this era of small business and community. We bring ritual preparations, spirit intended growth and love of practice by sharing occultum gnosis, hidden knowledge to those who simply ask. Questions? Just ask. Mentoring is available on a rotational and seasonal basis.
